Tax Assessor

General Info

The Berkeley Township Tax Assessor is governed by State law and regulated by the Director of the Division of Taxation through the Ocean County Board of Taxation. The Assessor is statutorily responsible to list, describe and value for assessment purposes, all real property within the municipal boundaries. The Assessor must determine the full and fair value of each parcel of property in the municipality at such price as, in his or her judgment, it would sell for at a fair and bona fide sale by private contract (NJSA 54:4-23).

Certified Mailing List (CML) Application

Please fill out the CML Application and return to the Tax Assessors office with a payment of $10.00. Checks can be made out to Berkeley Township. Applications are accepted in person or by emailing the Tax Assessor, Eric Zanetti. Once application and payment is received, please allow 7 to 10 business days to process.

The Division of Taxation is required by law to distribute copies of the 2024 Table of Equalized Valuations to the Commissioner of Education, Municipal Clerks of each municipality, and the County Tax Administrators of each County Board of Taxation, as per P.L. 1954, Chapter 86, N.J.S.A. 54:1-35.1 and N.J.S.A. 54:51 A-4(c).
